Turkey Smash Burgers with Cranberry and Brie

This month we’ve partnered with our good friend Jack from Jacks Meat Shack to give you a selection of the tastiest recipes you can recreate at home with the best selection of our meat range. Following on from Jack’s roast turkey joint, we’re showing you how to use your leftover turkey in this irresistible turkey smash burger, paired with cranberry and brie

Cooking Method

  1. Weigh beef into 100g balls.
  2. When ready to cook, heat a large cast iron pan or flat griddle over direct heat. Place balls in the skillet or on the skillet, ensuring there is room for them to be smashed down.
  3. After approximately 30 seconds of searing, smash the burgers with a spatula or similar barbecue utensil until flat. Allow burgers to cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, or when the edges start to turn brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Flip burgers over and immediately place 1 or 2 slices of burger cheese on top of each patty.
  5. Add sliced Turkey and brie on top of patties. Cover over each burger with a bowl which will allow the cheese to melt.
  6. Allow two minutes for the cheeses to melt then remove from the heat. As smash burgers are very thin they do not take long to cook at all.
  7. Ensure your burger buns have been lightly toasted before assembling your burger in the following order going up: bun, burger with burger cheese, sliced turkey, 2 tbsp cranberry sauce, burger with burger cheese and brie and bun.
