Cumberland Sausage Breakfast Baguette

These are a succulent, fat sausage. What to do with them, there are many options but this one called for the ultimate breakfast baguette.
Using the wonderful supplies here by The Village Butchers, including the Cumberland Sausages. With the addition to all the breakfast favourites this one makes for an amazing brunch meal. This recipe contains a little extra hit from a Bacon Miso Honey cooked mushrooms, and a few hash browns for a side.
We use freshly baked Barra Gallega, the sizing of the baguette is purely down to choice, but we tend to go for a medium size, average French stick size. This will feed 2 people comfortably.

Cooking Method

  1. In a pan heat a little oil, once hot add sausage, turning occasionally to get colour, remove from pan into a oven safe dish.

What To Serve With A Cumberland Sausage Breakfast Baguette

In this recipe, crispy hash browns are served on the side, making it a true breakfast feast. You can also add grilled cherry tomatoes or baked beans to keep with the full English breakfast style. Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can use other sausages, however, Cumberland sausages have a distinct peppery seasoning and juicy texture that make this breakfast baguette extra special. If you swap them, try to use a high-quality, thick sausage to keep the flavour and richness.

We recommend using Barra Gallega for its light, crusty texture, but any medium-sized baguette or French stick will work well. Just ensure the bread is sturdy enough to hold the fillings without going soggy.
