Smash Burgels

This is a creation we love and always enjoy, its a Burgel. A Burger in a Bagel. By far one of the best fusion meals we create. With simple ingredients this is an amazing thing to produce, along with the Smash Sauce that pulls all this together. Smash patties, have as many as you want. We always go for two, layered with Smash Sauce, lettuce and and fresh tomatoes. This recipe will give you the mix for the Patties and also the Smash Sauce, with some outstanding products this is a must for this summer.

 

Cooking Method

  1. To start we will make the Smash Sauce, finely chop the GHERKINS, equal quantities of mayo to tomato ketchup Mix together adding smoked salt as you blend. Set aside until assembly.
  2. For the patties, finely chop the onion, in a large mixing bowl add the smash mince, paprika, garlic, onion. Mix and blend together so flavours blend, add the sea salt and combine once again, leave to rest.
  3. Slice tomato, prepare iceberg ready for the final steps.
  4. Toast your bagel, once toasted remove and we are ready to smash the burgers. Make your patties into balls, place on your heat,(BBQ, grill, pan, hotplate). Once placed on, take a sheet of Greaseproof Paper, smash the ball turning these into thin patties, flipping when sides are cooked.
  5. Whilst cooking, start to assemble the toasted bagel, start with a helping of smash sauce as your base, iceberg next followed with tomato. Add the burger cheese slice to the patties topped with another healthy portion of smash sauce.
  6. Compile together, creating your smash stack burgel.

For the Smash Sauce:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Tomato Ketchup
  • Gherkins
  • Smoked Sea Salt from The Dorset Sea Salt Company

For the Patties:

  • White Onion
  • Paprika
  • Garlic Granules
  • Sea Salt
  • Smash Mince

Other:

  • Beef Tomato
  • Burger Cheese Slices
  • Bagels of your choice, we use seeded
  • Iceberg Lettuce
