Spaghetti Bolognese

Cooking Method

  1. Preheat barbecue grill to 180C or oven hob and heat the oil in a large frying pan.
  2. Add grated onion to the pan and fry until golden.
  3. Add garlic and brown then add carrots.
  4. Add the tinned tomatoes, vegetable stock and salt and pepper to the browned veg and reduce heat to a simmer.
  5. Allow the juice to reduce down until thick, approximately 30 minutes.
  6. Whilst the sauce is simmering, prepare meatballs by adding the dry seasonings including the stock cubes to the mince meat and mixing well with your hands ensuring an even distribution.
  7. Roll the meat into golf ball size meat balls.
  8. Place on the grill and brown the outside, approximately 5 minutes.
  9. Add meat balls to sauce and allow to simmer for 10 minutes whilst cooking your preferred pasta.
  10. Serve with pasta and top with Parmesan.

The Ingredients

1kg mince 
Oil for frying
4 cloves garlic
2 tins of chopped tomatoes
2 onions grated
4 carrots peeled and grated
Salt and pepper
500ml vegetable stock
Your favourite pasta
Parmesan to serve

Dry seasoning:
2 beef stock cubes
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp onion powder
