Vikki J’ Ploughman Sausage Rolls

  • 60 Minutes
  • Medium
  • Pork

This is a family favourite created by our own Mom of the house Victoria.
Its a simple but effective creations, enjoyed by all. This here is the Ploughmans version using puff pastry but is so easy to alter and mix up with your own flavourings and ingredients. Using the Sausage Mix and seasoning up with a blend of flavours these Sausage Rolls can be used for every occasion, picnics, dinner parties or a grab and go snack.

Cooking Method

  1. To start, have your pastry on the side ready to use, prepare the sausage meat in a bowl with the cheese, branston, garlic and the salt & pepper to season.
  2. Your pastry will now be at room temperature and easily to unroll, unrolling so ready to start the filling process.
  3. Take your sausage meat mix we have prepared, spoon on to the pastry, ensuring enough space to roll over and seal, continue this process until the pastry has the sausage on.
  4. Using the paper your pastry is on, roll making sure to keep tight, seal edging flap by forking together giving you the sausage roll shape, take a knife and score top of pastry and then cutting into desired sizes.
  5. Transfer the cut rolls onto a Baking Tray lined with baking parchment, remembering to allow space for cooking, egg wash and sprinkle with your choice of topping
  6. Place into a pre heated oven at 180c for around 35minutes or until reaching temperature 75c or above.

This is a firm favourite and can easily be tweaked and adjusted to create your own take on the classic sausage roll.
