Bring the meatballs to room temperature (10-15 minutes out of the fridge) for even cooking. · For pan-frying/simmering (classic method): Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Brown the meatballs in batches for 4-6 minutes, turning for an even crust, then add to your favourite tomato sauce and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes until cooked through (internal 71°C for safety).
For baking: Preheat oven to 200°C (fan 180°C / Gas 6). Place on a lined baking tray, brush lightly with oil if desired, and bake for 18-22 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and cooked through.
For BBQ/grilling: Preheat grill to medium-high, brush with oil, and cook 8-12 minutes, turning frequently for char and even doneness. Check our guide to safe cooking temperatures for details.
Rest for 2-3 minutes after cooking, this keeps them juicy and tender.
